BRMC added to Psycho Las Vegas 2020

BRMC just added to Psycho Las Vegas 2020.

Tickets are on sale now through AXS.

UPDATE: More info from Las Vegas Weekly:

Topping the bill are three metal giants: New Jersey’s Danzig, scheduled to perform 1990 album Danzig II: Lucifuge in its entirety; Denmark’s Mercyful Fate; and Norway’s Emperor—the latter two making their only U.S. appearances of the year.

The festival’s fifth Vegas edition will take place August 14-16 at venues across Mandalay Bay including the Events Center, House of Blues and Mandalay Bay Beach, with the annual Psycho Swim party kicking things off one night earlier at Daylight Beach Club.

Danzig also headlined Psycho Las Vegas in 2018, playing 1992 album Danzig III: How the Gods Kill (and frontman Glenn Danzig returned to headline the fest as a member of The Original Misfits last year), and Mercyful Fate vocalist King Diamond headlined Psycho Las Vegas in 2017.

Among others added to the bill are alternative rock veterans The Flaming Lips; metal supergroup Down, fronted by ex-Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo; garage-rock outfit Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; Scandinavian metal bands Satyricon and Katatonia; and recently reunited Las Vegas mathcore favorites Curl Up and Die.

They join a list of previously revealed artists including Blue Öyster CultTy SegallWarpaintBlonde RedheadWatainUlverAt the GatesPoison the WellThursdayPinbackBorisWindhandCursive and Brutus.

Passes for Psycho Las Vegas are on sale now for $229 plus fees and taxes at vivapsycho.com and axs.com, along with tickets to Psycho Swim ($55 plus fees and taxes).

Update from Psycho 2020 Facebook Event page on March 19, 2020:

An important update from Psycho Entertainment HQ:

Preparations for Psycho Las Vegas 2020 are moving forward as scheduled, with no current plans to postpone. We’re hunkered down in our doomsday bunker (the same one we’ve been occupying since 2013) using this time in isolation to hammer out production, merch designs, set times, and every little thing that goes into making Psycho Las Vegas America’s greatest rock n’ roll festival.

We’ve always been somewhat of an oasis; a musical gathering that exists in a surreal plane of existence where time stands still one weekend a year for us Psychos. The whole world feels like it exists on that plane right now, and we’re all on this wild ride together. It’s not just live entertainment or your local concert venue that is affected by this; we all are, and coming out of this healthy and stronger than we were before is the Psycho way.

    See you in August!

WATCH The Songbook: Peter Hayes of BRMC on Gibson TV

GuitarWorld reported that Gibson has launched Gibson TV, an online television network dedicated to guitars and music culture:

Hosted on YouTube and featuring all-new series Gibson promises that it will break out of the gear demo, interview and behind-the-scenes content trifecta to offer guitarists something new.

Those looking for something performance-based should check out The Songbook, which features stripped-down acoustic sets.

    GuitarWorld

Upon Gibson TV’s launch, The Songbook has performances from Samantha Fish, Peter Hayes of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Patrick Park (and his dog).

Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club first picked up the guitar at the age of 14 when he began trying to figure out how to play his mother’s classical guitar. As he continued to play, his mother showed him flamenco and finger picking styles that had a strong influence on his playing and technique.

Peter would eventually go on to play with The Brian Jonestown Massacre and eventually form Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with Robert Levon Been in 1998.

In this episode of The Songbook, Peter stopped by to perform the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club song “Shuffle Your Feet.”
