BRMC in Salt Lake City, UT on July 23

According to Deseret News, BRMC will be part of the Twilight Concert Series in Salt Lake City, Utah:

“The outdoor concert series, which will run July 16-Aug. 27, will feature artists including Death Cab for Cutie, Run the Jewels, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Artists performing Aug. 27, however, still haven’t been announced.

“The amazing evolution in both scope and popularity of the Twilight concerts has not only been very fun to watch, but has been a perfect reflection of the booming growth and vitality our whole city has been experiencing,” Becker said in a prepared statement. “I hope every resident can make it to a Twilight show or one of our great local summer festivals.

    The lineup:

    • July 16: Death Cab for Cutie, with special guest tUnE-yards.
    • July 23: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Father John Misty

    • Aug. 6: The Kills, with special guest METZ
    • Aug. 13: The Word, with special guest Lee Fields & The Expressions

The announcement video is kind of funny (and cheesy) if you like that sort of humor:

  • Pre-Order Live In Paris

    Pre-Order Live In Paris

BRMC have posted some clips from the new 33.3% Documentary by Yana Amur, which is accompanying the new Live in Paris CD/DVD sets now available to pre-order from BRMC’s website:

Here’s the email announcement sent to the BRMC mailing list:

      BRMC Live In Paris

‘It was a little over a year ago while sitting in the back of a passenger van outside Tokyo, all of us covered in sweat and half cocked grins trying to catch our breath after having just walked off stage, I just remember someone muttering the idea that we might actually really want to think about filming one of these shows before it’s all over’

‘I guess my first reaction was that we could all use a very long hot shower much more than another live DVD at that exact moment. My second was that it might be a shame if we reached the end of that tour without capturing any of the beauty and even brutality of it. But a lot of the music we create is not only where we exist, but also where we escape to.’

‘It’s difficult though with film to avoid making a band into just another ‘reality show’ crafted into a product on a shelf, and at the same time just painting a plain picture of a live concert would be like a dream without very much color or feeling.

In the end we have released two separate films to show both sides of the same coin….

‘Live In Paris’ is the dream.

And ‘33.3% Documentary’ is the morning after.

We hope you enjoy what you find’
