  • Rebuild Cobb Studio & Nicgorski home.

Rebuild Cobb Studio & Nicgorski home.

“Our long time friends in The Cobbs need a little help and support. Last month their home studio in Philly was destroyed by fire and water damage.
This home served as a shelter from the storm for many bands over the years, including ourselves, recording much of the ‘Howl’ & ‘Beat The Devils Tattoo’ album in their tiny basement studio. The Nicgorski’s took us in, gave us a place to hide out and record, and never asked for anything in return (except for us to take their daughters
Please help in anyway you can, thank you-
    -BRMC”

Visit Billy Nicgorski’s GoFundMe campaign and help add to the fundraiser and to receive updates on the studio. Here is a little more about what happened:

“On Tuesday April 29th in the middle of the night we had a catastrophe at the studio. On the second floor of the house we had a major water overflow that spread down into the basement studio causing an electrical fire and massive water damage. It was a complete loss. We are covered by insurance but as you would expect it is only covering a small portion of the damage.

We really need your help to bring back the studio and to rebuild our lives. If you know me you know it’s really hard for me to ask for help. A friend suggested that I put this together.

Thanks for all of your support. It means everything to me to get the studio back and to fix my home.

    Thanks
Billy -Paul -Maria Nicgorski Ryan Bernstein”

  • BRMC Graffiti Guerrilla

    BRMC Graffiti Guerrilla

This video was posted a couple weeks ago and it’s great to see a full article (in French) on the artists! Excerpt of the article through Google Translate:

“This beautiful graffiti is the result of a collaboration between Diskaerosol , graffiti artist Charly and Aurélie Compain a Berruyère that after working in the music industry, is involved in the creation of music and video. What inspired this project? The American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC dubbed) .

The duo decided to imagine and realize a graffiti referring to BRMC, visual novel. He had to act fast, “so that it fits with the French group tour ( from February 5 to 24, note ).  “On January 17, the duo moved under the bridge bypass: Diskaerosol going all day spray paint in hand, then Aurelie Compain filmed the whole execution of the work. “We arrived at 10 am and did not stop until the last ray of sunshine! “She recalls.

She shot a video edited in fast motion where you can see, about 4 minutes, the fresco rise gradually. Music by BRMC, obviously.”

  • BRMC featured in trailers for The Counselor and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag

BRMC featured in trailers for The Counselor and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag

Last month, there was some excitement because BRMC’s song “Sell It” is in a trailer for the film The Counselor, which comes out this week. Here’s the trailer and a short synopsis:

    Movie: The Counselor
    Genres: Crime, Drama And Thriller
    Director: Ridley Scott
Stars: Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem
    Writer: Cormac McCarthy,
    Runtime: 111 min
    Release Date: 25 October 2013.

    Synopsis:
This is a David and Goliath story of one veterinarian’s battle to protect her patients (tigers, lions and even house cats) from big corporations, with their big corporate money, that will shamelessly do anything to animals to increase their bottom line. She starts a grassroots movement that is fueled by passion, but appears to be losing the battle. Then, unexpectedly, she realizes that the corporations accidentally left her a giant loophole. In a scramble to take advantage of this unforeseen gift, she leads the crusade passing legislation protecting animals from de-clawing in seven cities in just six weeks.

A little bit earlier in September, PC Gamer and Tech 2 posted about BRMC’s song “Hate The Taste” playing in Ubisoft’s trailer for multiplayer in the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag game (release date 10.29.2013 on XBOX 360/Ps3/Wii U and Day 1 for whenever PS4 and XBox One). Phil Savage of PC Gamer writes “This multiplayer trailer is packed full of violence. And also the band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, for some inexplicable reason.”  Shunal Doke of Tech 2 writes: “The trailer is comprised entirely of gameplay footage taken from cinematic angles with the song I Hate the Taste by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club playing in the background.” Well, close enough. This Assassin’s Creed game is very pirate-themed, so appropriate for BRMC’s music.
