BRMC featured on Guy Garvey’s Finest Hour

I always enjoy hearing how much other artists appreciate BRMC’s music. Guy Garvey of Elbow has mentioned his appreciation for HOWL in NME (95 of the 100 Lost Albums You Need to Know) before:

“People didn’t really get it, and nobody ever really picked up on how good it was, maybe because it was so different to their first two records, being mostly acoustic. But you can tell when you listen to it that the album is really coming from the soul. The lyrics to one of the songs, Fault Line – “Racing with the rising tide to my father’s door” – that’s poetry, that is. Those are proper, Dylan-class lyrics. But the whole album is just beautiful musically, and it was a real departure for the band.”

I didn’t know Guy Garvey had a show on BBC 6, but apparently he has recently featured BRMC on his show which is available to listen to on the BBC 6 website for 28 days.

Guy delivers his show with a shocker this week – he’s not bothered about Elvis. His theme is The Singing Detective soundtrack and his featured artist is The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Plus tunes from The Staves, Wilco and Led Zep.
